Minyak angin & sushi, the best combination...

Yesterday Puan Fara wasnt feeling so good. I offered to rub some ointment (minyak angin cap Afiat) onto her back. We were in the living room. The ointment had been left in our bedroom where the heater was turned off. When I went to get it, this is what I saw...

minyak angin beku...

It was frozen. The temperature in the bedroom was only 8 degrees celcius. I had to defrost it in from of the new living room heater. It took about 10 minutes to do so.

1 minute

3 minutes

5 minutes

7 minutes

9 minutes

10 minutes, bolehlah pakai

After 5 minutes of heateing, it is observed that the minyak angin cap Afiat started to liquify fast. This is due to the increase in the number of heated ointment molecules which aided in the melting process. It is also observed that the color changes from an initial cloudy green pasty color (frozen) to a rich dark green color as the minyak angin afiat melts. It is thought that oxigen trapped in the frozen molecules causing the green pasty color escapes at a high velocity during heating which in turn changes the color to dark green. Another significant observation is that the minty menthol like smell of the ointment increases as temperature increases. This is caused by the increase in molecule spacing when temperature rises or in other owrds vaporization of liquid...

After collecting extensive data from the experiment, we all got hungry and headed to a Sushi restaurant in the outskirts of Hamamatsu... Its a new place and we dont know its name. But its beating up its number one comptetition, Kappa Sushi...

Dalam kedai sushi...

Sebelum makan sushi, singgah kedai 100yen...

The sushi here has a very good base (short grain rice). It sticks well and doesnt fall apart. Even the toppings taste a lot fresher than the ones served at Kappa Sushi. Like in Malaysia, the sushi magically comes on conveyer belts. Unlike in Malaysia, the sushi is cheaper here in Japan and made by real Japanese...

Desert...

If you wait for a certain sushi and it doesnt come, you could order it from the person standing in the middle of the conveyer belt... If he has the right ingredients, hell make it for you. If not, just wait a few minutes and your order will arrive magically with your table number on the conveyer belt... My favourite is 'Kani Miso', made form crab meat and brains... I always have to special order this one... Kani Miso for table 38... See the guy in the white shirt? Hes the conveyer belt standing person...

salmon eggs sushi (raw)

salmon sushi(raw)

fried shrimp(right, cooked) and lobster sushi(left, cooked)

Remember always, in Japan, its customary to...

makan sushi pakai tangan, bukan chopsticks...ITADAKIMASU!!!

bring the whole family...

never forget to feed the baby... this kid eats anything... good kid...

after eating, stack up your plates and smile for the camera...

observe other people... they might be crazy...

What can you learn from all of this? Thats right, if the Mrs. gets sick, defrost some minyak angin and bring the whole family to eat out...
